After the pope’s death, his ring (called the fisherman’s ring) is removed and destroyed
Chronology
When Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with leading one of the world’s most secret and ancient events, the election of a new pope, he finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could shake the very foundations of the Catholic Church. The things Cardinal Lawrence and the other priests do during the film’s conclave are exactly in line with Catholic faith and centuries-old tradition. The Vatican announces that the throne of the Holy See (the governing body of the Catholic Church) is vacant.
Ayendi is said to be the first African pope
The papal residence is sealed with a purple ribbon and sealed with a wax papal seal. The college of cardinals is arranged in apartments (the Domus Sanctae Marthae, or House of Saint Martha) where they can eat and sleep between votes. The windows and doors of the Sistine Chapel, where the actual elections take place and votes are cast, are blacked out, closed and locked to preserve the secrecy of the conclave.
Sister Agnes: Although we Sisters are supposedly invisible, God nevertheless gave us eyes and ears
The Roman Catholic Church has had three African popes: Victor the First (189-199 AD), Miltiades (also known as Melchiades, 311-314 AD), and Gelasius, The First (492-496 AD). The movie has great colors, details, sets, writing, and action, with many plot twists
This is probably the best movie I’ve seen this year, and I’ve seen quite a few. It’s a serious movie, maybe the only serious movie I’ve seen this year, and it’s considered an adult movie, as many of the details in the movie won’t be understood by a younger crowd. The opening night matinee was attended by adults only, and it was the best-attended matinee I’ve been to so far this year.
It has a great cast and very good acting
I don’t really consider it a mystery, as I figured out the plot early on, but it’s very well presented. Overall, it’s a great movie, and I’m considering watching it again.
