The old house location was great and I think it’s the film’s best success

Watson – however, the film is set in 1875, 12 years before the first Holmes story was published, but this may be a tongue-in-cheek reference, suggesting that Holmes and Watson are real people. For a low-budget film, I thought it was a very good effort that kept the spirit of Shelley’s classic.

Great use of set design and decent acting

It was nice to see Michelle Ryan (Zoe from Eastenders) back in character, although I wish she had played more. Small complaints were that some of the character scenes went on too long and there wasn’t enough of the monster.

Other than that, a great movie for a lazy afternoon

Also, the location of the old house made the other locations really stand out as sets (from the beautiful palace to the tacky-looking special effects in the asylum).
